Portraits by Hans Holbein the Younger.

Holbein is acknowledged to be the Renaissance artist of the Tudor period, people of influence queued to have their portraits taken by him. Born in Germany, 1497 he receieved little recognition until he painted Erasmus the influential Renaissance scholar. Erasmus sent him to Sir Thomas More in London with a personal recommendation. More, impressed with the artist used his influence at court to introduce him to Henry viii & his family.
